When ordering you will need the following information The kerf required on the center saw. The radius required on the side saws - standard radii are 1/8" and 3/16". A sample of your self-centering sleeve. The maximum swing of planer - to split up to 2" lumber. The standard center saw is 10". Other size center saws are available. The thickness of the lumber being split. The type of planer in use - make, model, and serial number.

The Sequoia Carbide Splitter Eased Edge Saw System consists of two basic parts:

The HEAD
is designed to fit a four inch long, self-centering sleeve. It consists of two parts:

1. the inside collar, which is locked in place on the yoke, and
2. the outside collar, which locks the three-piece carbide splitter saw in place.

The CENTER SPLITTER SAW
is designed according to planer specifications, which allows for the amount of swing in the planer, the thickness of the lumber, and the amount of kerf to be removed. The two carbide eased saws have two functions:

1. they cut the desired radius needed, and
2. they help guide the center splitter saw, which eliminates any distortion of the saw plate once it is in the cut. This ensures accurate lumber sizes.

Standard size: 10" diameter; 3/16", ¼" or 5/16" kerf

This original system is more accurate and less expensive than a splitter knife system. It reduces downtime and maintenance while it increases productivity with a thinner kerf. It is designed to split green lumber where an S4S finish is not critical.

This grinder produces an accurate concave shape on carbide saw teeth. It can be used for both the initial shaping process and maintaining a sharp cutting edge. It provides a sharper, more accurate cutting edge in less time than standard, hand-held grinders.

The design allows for identical tooth grinding and has fully adjustable cutting angles and depths on varying saw diameters. It also provides fast and easy saw mounting.

Standard Size: 10" diameter; ¼" kerf

This system produces an S4S finish on lumber and is similar in design to a splitter knife system.

However, this system allows for greater feed speeds than a conventional splitter knife system because it contains more teeth.

This system provides a uniform eased edge at higher feed speeds because of increased cutters which makes it compatible with the top splitter system.

The carbide design allows for 100% to 200% longer runs between sharpening.
